We made some tiffin yesterday. Today I have eaten far too many pieces. It is just so moreish, and they are only small pieces!! I tried to compensate by making lentil soup for lunch, healthy and delicious! When my husband brought me a soup maker a few years ago I was somewhat sceptical. I made soup perfectly well without one. I really wasn’t sure what the point was. I am totally converted! It is brilliant! It has definitely become one of my favourite kitchen items.
Today has been a really busy work day. In the midst of various Zoom meetings I received a letter, to all members of the clergy, from The Archbishops of Canterbury and York and the Bishop of London. In it, they write:
‘Bearing in mind our primary vocation as the Church of Jesus Christ to pray and to serve we call upon the Church of England to make this month of lockdown a month of prayer. More than anything else, whatever the nation thinks, we know that we are in the faithful hands of the risen Christ who knows our weaknesses, tiredness and struggles and whose steadfast love endures for ever.’
Over the coming weeks, I will still be at Church praying. The Church building will be open at specified times for individual prayer, and there will continue to be a variety of ways in which we can engage in prayer together, even though we can’t physically be together.
