Self Isolation Diary – day 9

1st November

Shortly after I published my blog last night, the government guidance was updated to make it clear that Churches would be closed to public worship for the duration of the lockdown.

There is no doubting that this lockdown will be hard, in so many different ways.

Holy Angels may not be able to hold public worship but we are still here, a praying community, ever seeking new ways to engage in this fast changing context. I am particularly sad that our confirmation service will have to be postponed and really hoping that the wedding booked for December can go ahead. The first date for both was in the middle of the last lockdown. Yet, I am also encouraged by the fellowship that has grown over these last few months – often through Zoom! And the ways in which people have practically looked out for, and encouraged one another.

Today is All Saints Day. I wonder, who are the saints, past and present that have encouraged and inspired you?
